This special project (which was started at Michelle Kaufmann Designs and managed through completion by Studio 101 Designs) provided a 4-module care facility for the New Camaldoli Hermitage Monks, to serve as a place for regular doctor checkups as well as an infirmary with patient room, exam office, physical therapy room, pharmaceutical supply room and kitchen. The facility is located on a beautiful remote site, with a 45 minute drive to the nearest town. This remoteness made the modular concept very attractive to the clients. This structure and surrounding landscape was designed to be as maintenance-free as possible, with exterior materials of standing seam weathering steel, integral color cement board, wood composite decking and xeriscaping plants.
