The clients had recently purchased the existing 2 story house, which has an unobstructed 180 degree view of the San Francisco Bay, and wanted to update the interior to a cleaner, more contemporary feel with minimal construction invasiveness. Studio 101 Designs developed a plan for a thorough updating which every room in the house was worked on. The flooring for the entire main floor was removed and replaced with new wood and stone tile flooring. A previously under-used pass-through room was transformed into a game room with a new wet bar, pool table, fireplace, and expansive bay view. All 3 of the existing wood burning fireplaces were removed and replaced with new gas fireplaces, the surrounds of which were designed to incorporate additional program such as storage and audio/visual functions. The existing kitchen cabinets were refinished and the doors/drawer fronts replaced to coordinate with new finishes throughout the project. Many interior doors were replaced and several existing exterior doors were removed and replaced with new aluminum clad wood units. The house's updates also included new landscaping, and swimming pool finish. Photography by Studio 101 Designs
